Our most recent home production is a documentary on the Farmers' Union Protest that is grappling the nation. Farmers from across India have gathered at Delhi borders to protest against the three new farm laws passed by the government. The disagreement between the farmers' unions and the Government of India has caused violence and loss of innumerable lives. The recent use of print and broadcast media to call the farmers terrorists and separatists is a risky journey for achieving short term strategy in quelling the protests. It has the potential of creating long term discontent amongst the Sikhs who are being accused of being Khalistani’s. Sikhs around the world are angered with the use of the term Khalistani’s for the farmers. While most media houses in India are involved in mud-slinging matches to take sides of one group or another. RIG360 Media took the initiative to understand the rumours questioning whether these farmers are terrorists and separatists groups funded through some international conspiracy. Our objective was to spend time with the farmers at the border between Haryana and Delhi, in an attempt to humanise the protest and bring forth their reality.
